conocenos Conócenos...En el año 2000, Polo, Rosi y Marcelo nuestro hijo, decidimos anclar en esta cálida caleta de pescadores como una excelente alternativa de vida, pues la que llevábamos en Lima era muy agobiante y contaminada.Empezamos este negocio familiar con un Restaurant, que se llamaba Restaurante Huankarute. Con el tiempo empezamos a alquilar habitaciones a los comensales que encontraban en nosotros la calidez y nostalgia de sus hogares. Fue así que poco a poco el restaurante se convirtió en Hospedaje & Restaurante Huankarute mejorando para ello nuestra infraestructura y aumentando nuestras habitaciones para atender a nuestro público. Y la familia también aumento con el nacimiento de nuestra hija Micaela. La respuesta del público atendido fue muy positiva, de tal manera que en este año fuimos recomendados por el Lonely Planet 2004, que para nosotros fue una gran sorpresa. Eso indica que creemos que estamos haciendo bien las cosas, por lo cual decidimos concentrarnos en los huéspedes, siendo ahora Hostal Huankarute, donde nos abocamos a atender de manera exclusiva a los huéspedes, con todos los servicios que tenemos, y que año a año tratamos de ir mejorando. Posteriormente un pedacito de cielo nos hizo compañía MirandaLlenando completamente nuestras vidas.Hoy por hoy, nuestra filosofía se basa en hacer sentir a los huéspedes como en su casa, pero sin las obligaciones que ello implica. Por eso; el Hostal Huankarute los recibirá con las puertas abiertas, a quienes deseen pasar unos días en esta su CASA. Huanchaco Huanchaco fue una caleta de pescadores, escenario de las culturas que se han venido desarrollando en la Costa Norte del Perú, como lo son Moche y Chimú. En la época de la colonia fue el segundo puerto más importante de nuestro país y en la actualidad es un balneario muy concurrido y visitado por personas que practican el surf, pero sobre todo mantiene su belleza y alberga su legado e historia a través de su Cultura Viva, todo esto representado en las faenas diarias que realizan nuestros pescadores huanchaqueros en una embarcación unipersonal llamada en el lenguaje muchik Tup o Caballito de Totora nombrada así por los españoles por la manera de sentarse sobre la balsa, siendo éste uno de los primeros indicios de la antigüedad de Huanchaco la cual fue hallada en Pampa Gramalote Huanchaquito con una antigüedad de 2000 AC.ATRACTIVOS TURÍSTICOS :Santuario de la Virgen del SocorroConstruido en el siglo XVI sobre una Huaca llamada TASCA, en cuyo interior se conserva la bella imagen de la santísima Virgen del Socorro, es la Primera Virgen llegada a América, motivo por el cual se considera a esta iglesia la Primera de Vocación Mariana. También destaca la presencia del Cementerio de Huanchaco, lugar que reemplazó a la función de enterramiento que venían cumpliendo las iglesias en aquella época.Biblioteca Municipal (Ex Escuela Municipal)Fue la Primera Escuela Pública de Huanchaco y el primer lugar donde a los Huanchaqueros les enseñaban el adoctrinamiento al catolicismo. Y a inicios del siglo XX este lugar fue donado por don Víctor Larco Herrera cuya edificación supo acoger al alumnado de aquella época. Actualmente cumple la función de Biblioteca Municipal, espacio en el cual se conserva valiosas fotografías de Huanchaco. Área Natural Protegida Totorales de HuanchacoSe encuentra a pocos minutos del muelle, aquí se lleva a cabo el proceso de cultivo de la TOTOTRA, tiempo de cosecha y secado. Esta materia prima se usa para la confección de las balsas de totora, embarcación conocida antiguamente en lengua muchik como TUP y que se sigue manteniendo a través de nuestros pescadores Huanchaqueros de generación en generación de manera tradicional.Histórico Muelle de HuanchacoEs una construcción de fines del siglo XIX, segundo muelle de importancia en el PERÚ por el boom azucarero donde embarcaban grandes buques con inmensa cargas de azúcar y algodón provenientes de las haciendas del valle de Chicama. Es un pequeño muelle de tasca larga y de poco fondo, construido a fines del siglo XIX por la agencia José M. Sáa & Cía. y posteriormente adquirido en 1902 por Don Victor Larco Herrera, se despachaban en grandes buques inmensas cargas de azúcar y algodón provenientes de las grandes haciendas del valle (Chiquitoy, Chiclín y Roma), que llegaban en ferrocarril, tanto así que a fines del año 1917, era el segundo puerto nacional, despues del callao. la importancia de Huanchaco era tal que famosas empresas navieras incluían a este puerto en su itinerario.. Iglesia de HuanchacoLa iglesia de Huanchaco es la segunda mas antigua del Perú. En ella reposa la imagen de la Virgen de la Candelaria con su niño, solicitada por el Misionero Franciscano Fray Alonso de Escarcena, a Carlos V, marcando así un tradición por mas de 300 años. Está ubicada en lo mas alto del balneario, desde ella hay una excelente vista de todo el lugar.
